Every now and then, you just have to create a scene!...

Updated: Mar 10, 2018

...and Department 56 has been helping Don do that for the past decade. The miniature buildings and accessories created by Department 56 allow you to step back into 19th Century Victorian England. At the time of Charles Dickens, England was the center of culture for the world, and where many of our Christmas traditions we celebrate today originated. The village and its accessories were inspired from Charles Dickens’ classic novels like A Christmas Carol, Oliver Twist, Nicholas Nickleby, David Copperfield, and Great Expectations.

What inspires him? The ability to create and bring to life the magic of the lanes and streets of London that Charles Dickens loved to walk for inspiration.

It has become a tradition for Don to add a new piece to his collection each year, much to the delight of his grandchildren, family, and friends!

A picture is worth a thousand words….so here we go!
